Spring Family Pictures Pt.1

Last Saturday we ventured out to take our Spring Family pictures. I had all intentions of having these done every 3 months. Fail. Our last ones were done in November, yes all the way back in the year 2011. Regardless, these turned out great. I love the colors.
 They just scream HELLO SPRING!
Brittany Ann Photography did a wonderful job. (She took ours back in November too.)
I can't believe how big Owen looks in these pictures. He is growing so fast. I am also astonished by how incredibly blue his eyes are. They are absolutely beautiful.
These are only half of the photos. I will post the remaining ones in my next post.
(I don't want to overwhelm you with cuteness.)
 Ok enough rambling...ENJOY!

Does anyone notice how much Owen looks like his daddy?
You can really see it in this one!

See you tomorrow for the rest...

I love how...

Owen, there is so much I love about you.
I love how with each day your hair gets longer and changes color.
I love how you try to sit up all by yourself.
I love how you play with the computer when I am trying to type.
I love how cute your feet are.
I love your serious face and your cute little profile.
I love how big your smile is when you first wake up.
I love all the funny noises you make. You are learning to be so loud.
I love how you blow raspberries with your mouth.
I love that you are a snuggler.
I love how you stop whatever you're doing and are glued to the screen every time we turn on Elmo.
I love how you roll over so easily now.
I love how your toes mesmerize you.
I love how you reach for me.
I love how you grab my face with both of your hands.
I love how your two little teeth poke through when you smile.
I love how you sleep in your crib every night like a big boy.
I love how excited you look when I pick you up from daycare, like I am your favorite person in the whole world.
I love how happy you make your dad.
I love how, just when I think there is no possible way I could love you more, another day passes and I do.
Owen, I hope you never tire of hearing how much I love you because I don’t think I could ever stop telling you. You fill my heart to the brim.

8 Months Old

Owen,
Most moms think their kids grow up too fast and I’m no exception. But when you turned eight months I found myself wondering how in the world it has only been eight months. Because you are so much a part of my life and world and heart . . . and it seems like you always have been.

Here’s who you are at eight months:
-       -You are eating 6-7 ounce bottles now.
-       -You eat baby food like a pro. Some of your favorites are: Sweet potatoes, Apples, Bananas, and Blueberries.
-       -You are almost sitting up on your own now. I think your record is about 30 seconds. We need to work on this.
-       -You have absolutely no interest in crawling. You can roll to your back so fast that there is no keeping you in the tummy time position.
-       -You will stand if we hold your hands.
-       -You can push yourself backwards in your walker, but not forward.
-       -You now laugh out loud all the time.
-       -Despite my protest, you say “dada” all the time. Lets work on “mama”, ok?
-       -You reach for people to hold you.
-       -You love toys, but your Sophie the Giraffe is your favorite.
-       -You still LOVE to jump.
-       -You are now wearing 9-month outfits and are in Size 3 diapers.
-       -You have a very consistent schedule these days. Naps are around 9 am, 12pm, and 4 pm. (Sleeping 45 minutes – 1 hour each time)
**And finally, Ladies and Gentlemen, I have saved the BEST for last**

-       -YOU SLEEP THROUGH THE NIGHT! I put you down anywhere from 8-9pm and you wake up around 6am.

8 Month Stats:
Weight: 15.8 pounds  16 pounds
Length: 25 inches  26 1/2 inches

Eight months. In just eight months, I've experienced what seems like a lifetime of emotions. I get to care for, nurture and love you every day and that has brought me more joy than I know what to do with. I honestly don't know how I got so blessed. I know what I have is a gift and I pray that I never take it for granted. I love being a mom. I love being YOUR mom. And I love you, Owen Harris Maynord, so very, very much.

Love,
Your Mommy

A beautiful wedding...

A beautiful wedding took place on this day three years ago. I still think back to that wonderful March day in 2009 and smile. Everything was perfect, and while we have our ups and downs, I would say we made a good choice. I love you more everyday!

St. Patrick's Day, Pt. 2

Here is our 2nd St. Patrick's Day outfit. I absolutely adore this one.

I think to myself, if I keep buying these over the top adorable outfits, will I ever be able to let go of them? See recently I started pricing Owen's clothes for a consignment sale. However, I found myself attached to almost every outfit he has. "Oh he has a picture in this one!" "He wore this the day he went to daycare for the first time!" Etc. Etc. Etc.... I cried, I pondered, I reminisced.

Out of 92 outfits I could part with 80. And believe you me, it was torture. "But what if you have another baby?" Well, that won't be for a few years. Plus, Brandon, who tried to help me through this anxiety said, "If we do have another child ONE DAY, who is to say it will be a boy? Also, won't you want to go out and buy new outfits?" Yes, and that is that. Out with the old, in with the new.

I kept outfits that really meant something to us: His first Christmas outfit, the sweater he wore in our family photo shoot, the onesie we brought him home from the hospital in, and some others.

This might be a silly thing to be worked up over, but I look at my precious boy everyday and think about how he changes from the time I lay him down at night to picking him up the next morning. People always say, "Enjoy this time because it goes too fast." They are right. It feels like just yesterday I was excited about maternity clothes and now here I am letting go of Owen's 6-month outfits. Wow. I guess I need to go shopping for more to make myself feel better!
