Owen is 4 Weeks

I can't believe my little man is already 4 weeks old.
He has grown and changed so much.

Here are some things about 4 week old Owen:
-He LOVES to cuddle.
-He has great head control.
-He now weighs over 7 pounds.
-He is now starting to fit into Newborn clothes instead of Preemie.
-He tries to hold his bottle when he eats from one.
-He is fascinated with his hands.
-He is starting to respond to my voice when I talk to him.
-He poops... ALOT.
-He wants to be held all of the time (the only way to get him to sleep).
-He enjoys being in his sling.
-He sleeps with me every night.
-He doesn't like baths.
-He is starting to stay awake for longer periods of time.
-He is a good sleeper. He wakes up every 3 hours to eat and usually goes back to sleep pretty quickly.
-He cries very softly unless he is REALLY mad.
-He growls when he gets upset.
-He is a very enthusiastic eater.
-He still likes to be swaddled at night.
-He can sleep through ANYTHING.

I am so blessed to have such a wonderful baby. He is always pleasant and happy. I love him with every ounce of my heart and I am trying to soak up these precious moments.

Owen was born... and

1. Where I once believed I was fearless, I now find myself afraid.
2. The sacrifices I thought I would have to make no longer seem like sacrifices.
3. I respect my body so much more ... look what it did!
4. I respect my parents and love them in a new way.
5. I find that Owen's pain feels much worse than my own. (I cry when he cries)
6. My heart breaks much more easily.
7. I think of someone else 234,836,178,976 times a day.
8. Bodily functions are no longer repulsive. In fact, they please me. (Hooray for poop!)
9. I look at Owen in the mirror instead of myself.
10. My love has becomes limitless, a superhuman power. I would do ANYTHING for that baby.
11. I finally realize that true joy doesn't come from "things".
12. I know what time the sun comes up.
13. I realize that the belly I can't seem to get rid of is totally worth having.
14. I no longer rely on a clock — Owen now sets my schedule.
15. Norman and Lola-who used to sleep in the bed-have now found themselves sleeping in the floor.
16. I have learned that taking a shower is a luxury.
17. I find myself wanting to make this world a better place.
18. I now believe in love at first sight.
19. I can no longer watch the news because every story I see breaks my heart.
20. I just plain love life more - everything has come together and is so much better because of one tiny person and my love for them.

Meet Owen

Owen went to church for the first time on Sunday. Brandon took Owen on stage to introduce him. Owen slept the whole time for daddy and Brandon did a great job! I was so proud!

Put your Hands UP!

As you can see, Owen sleeps with his hands up. It is the cutest thing. When did simple things like this become my obsession... oh right, when my sweet little baby was born and my world started revolving around the little things that he does everyday! So cute...So cute...

Lesley holding Owen. We can't wait for her baby to be born so he will have a little girlfriend to play with!

My Sweet Baby Boy

Is he not the cutest baby you have ever seen? I know I am biased but he is pretty darn perfect!

Last Belly Pictures

These were taken Monday night before delivery day.
I kind of miss my belly, but not the heartburn and the shortness of breath.

One Week Old

I can't believe my baby was a week old yesterday. It has been absolutely the best week of my life. I am incredibly tired and parts of my body are very sore, but it is worth it. I am so in love with him.
 Happy One Week Birthday Owen!
